The Vtrim® Team
Krista M.C. Conley
Managing Director & C.E.O.
An experienced entrepreneur, Krista was tapped by the University of Vermont leadership to commercialize Vtrim’s leading weight-management curriculum in February 2011. Since then, she has emerged as a tireless advocate for behavior change, for individuals, for families and for communities across America.
Like many, Krista has personal experience with the negative health effects of overweight and obesity on friends and family. She is passionate for people to improve their own health, not just to look better, but to feel better, to reduce medical costs, and to live a longer life. For Krista, healthy weight means healthy families!
Prior to Vtrim, Krista founded a translation and multilingual publishing firm that she sold in 1998. She is active in politics and worked with Senator Kennedy in Washington on AIDS issues and with the Hong Kong Government on issues related to trade and investment with American technology-based companies. She is raising two sons and revels in the beauty and community that is Vermont. When not working, she is sneaking around the globe, with friends and family.
Beth Casey Gold, MS, RD
Director of Research
Beth’s passion is research, and therefore her role: maintaining the integrity of the curriculum and making sure the latest research is incorporated into the program, is perfect for her. In fact, it was Beth’s research article, Weight Loss on the Web: A Pilot Study Comparing a Structured Behavioral Intervention to a Commercial Program (Obesity Vol. 15 No. 1 January 2007), that recognized the effectiveness of Vtrim’s online curriculum when compared to another commercial program.
Beth spent thirteen years at the University of Vermont working for nine years side-by-side with Jean Harvey-Berino, PhD, RD, Chair of Nutrition and Food Sciences and Vtrim Founder, studying the Vtrim Online program as well as other research studies. For three of those thirteen years, she worked in Continuing Education at UVM worked to establish Vtrim as a stand-alone company. As a Registered Dietitian, she has counseled people extensively in-person and online on weight management in both a group and individual setting. She has been interviewed for articles featured in USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, Self, Fitness, Baby Talk, Cooking Light, Parents, EatingWell and DOC News.
Beth enjoys running and playing competitive soccer when she is not spending time with her husband and keeping up with two very active young sons.
Kate Myerson, RD, CD, CDE
Business Development Manager
Kate discovered Vtrim through one of her clients while working as a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator. From there she went on to complete the Vtrim training to become a certified facilitator. After seeing the powerful changes both physically and mentally in her Vtrim class participants, she decided to pursue a larger role with Vtrim.
Today, Kate is Vtrim’s Business Development Manager. She hopes to build lasting partnerships with participants and increase Vtrim’s reach to the many individuals, families, businesses and organizations who can benefit from its elite curriculum. Kate’s goal is to see Vtrim classes offered nationally to give everyone a fair fight at reaching their healthy weight.
Kate is the first person to agree there is no one-size-fits-all diet. And that is precisely why she believes in the Vtrim model: because it provides individualized, expert support and not only teaches but empowers people to be healthier, lose weight and learn how to keep it off.
In her free time Kate enjoys hiking, biking and cooking. You will usually spot her wandering down grocery aisles reading labels or visiting local farmers markets.
Marketing & Business Development Manager
Liz was a junior in college when she first encountered Vtrim while taking the program to learn about healthy life choices. When Krista, Vtrim’s CEO, visited one of her classes the following semester, Liz took the opportunity to connect with her, which lead to a summer internship in Vtrim’s Sales and Marketing department.
After the internship ended, Liz stayed on and is now the Marketing and Business Development Manager. She is currently completing her Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, focusing in marketing and entrepreneurship with a minor in community development. She strives to bring the Vtrim brand to people who are looking to build a healthier lifestyle for themselves and their families.
In her free time, Liz – a Vermont native – enjoys running half marathons, spending time with her family, exploring new recipes and of course, travelling.
